Privacy Policy

Practical Husband is a small, one-person operation. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. No legal jargon beyond what's required.

What we collect

To send you the right email at the right time, we collect:

• Your email address, required, so we have somewhere to send reminders.
• Your name, optional, used to personalize emails.
• Your wife's name, your anniversary date, and her birthday, optional, used to time and personalize the reminders you signed up for.
• Any custom dates and labels you add (an in-law's birthday, a recurring occasion, anything else you choose to track), optional.
• Which holidays you opt into, so we only email you about the ones you actually care about.

We also collect a couple of things automatically:

• Your IP address, briefly, only to prevent abuse (for example, someone trying to spam a stranger's inbox with repeated signups). It's kept for 24 hours, then deleted, and it is never used to identify or track you.
• Email activity (whether an email was delivered, opened, or clicked), reported to us by our email provider. We use this only to catch delivery problems, such as a bounced or blocked address, not to build a profile of your behavior.

If you use the "know a husband who'd like this" referral box, we use the friend's email address one time to send a single invite email on your behalf. We don't store it or add them to any list unless they choose to sign up themselves.

What we don't do

We don't sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers. We don't run ad-tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this site. If that ever changes, we'll update this page first.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to actually run Practical Husband. Each only sees what it needs to do its job, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes:

• Resend, to deliver the emails themselves.
• Railway, to host the database where your information is stored.
• Netlify, to host this website and the signup form.

How long we keep it

We keep your information as long as you're subscribed, so the reminders keep working. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and you can ask us to delete your data entirely at any time (see below).

Your choices

• Edit anything, your name, wife's name, dates, or holiday choices, anytime at practicalhusband.com/manage.
• Unsubscribe, a link is in every email we send, or use the manage page above.
• Delete your data entirely, email us (address below) and we'll remove it.

Children's privacy

Practical Husband is intended for married adults and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

Your connection to this site is encrypted (HTTPS) end to end. There are no passwords to steal, access to your own data is via a private, time-limited link sent to your own email address.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of Practical Husband after a change means you accept the update.
